One of countries leading Utility Suppliers and an award-winning Facilities Management Company contracted Glazing Refurbishment to undertake a very difficult high-level glazing removal/replacement operation at their prestigious HQ Building located in the heart of the West Midlands.
The GR in house Traffic Management Team were tasked in advance and at short notice to arrange the necessary road/pavement closures associated with this busy city central location.
The scope of the works included the temporary removal and replacement of two large mechanically fixed vertical Brise Soleil externally hung panels, temp removal was required to facilitate access to the large defective double glazed unit located behind.
The GR Procurement Team were able to source and match the existing double glazed units specification and configuration to include the coatings and body tints from our European specialist glass suppliers.
The GR delivery team were able to pick the new over-sized double glazed unit up from the dockside and transport to site via our specialist glass carrying vehicles to include rear mounted hiab for loading and off-loading.
The actual installation works were then commenced at 0630hrs on a Sunday morning utilising the GR (IRATA) rope abseil technicians, (IPAF) mechanical access teams and our in house spider crane and pneumatic lifting suction lifters.
All works were safely overseen by our (SMSTS) trained Site Manager.
The works were signed off and completed by 11.30am on the same morning making this high level difficult access operation one of the fastest high level glass changes our Midlands Glazing Refurbishment Teams have ever undertaken or achieved.
Well done to the GR Midlands Team.
